INTER-LIBRARY SERVICE: book loans (ILL) and provision of documents (DD)

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service and Document Delivery (DD) service allows requests to be made to Italian and foreign libraries to borrow books and to obtain the provision of other bibliographical documents (articles from magazines etc...) that are not possessed by the libraries of the University Library System (SBA), within the limits of the laws in force.

The Service is centralised at the University Centre for Library Services (CASB); it is supplied in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Institute for the Single Catalogue of Italian Libraries and for Bibliographical Information (ICCU), and with execution methods and fees established by the guidelines of the IFLA - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.

The CASB office responsible for the service adheres to the national and international services that enable the reciprocal exchange of bibliographical material (Nilde, Subito, British Library Document Supply Service etc.); it also undersigns agreements directly with individual Italian and foreign libraries, based on the reciprocal free nature of the service.
