Seminar in English for Student and Near-Graduates

The seminar requires 12 hours of activities; it will grant the assignment of credits (according to the procedures of each course) and an intermediate Open Badge.

The seminar is divided into three parts:

  • Practice: two in-person laboratories (4 hours each)
  • Theory: individual asynchronous study of the materials shared by the staff
  • Final test: during the second laboratory.


The materials will be available in the “Seminar in English - Theoretical part” channel of the Bibliorienta Team.

The in-person laboratories will take place in the appointed university library.

General information

  • It is mandatory to register to the seminar within the deadline specified in the calendar; to do so, fill in the form.


    Please notice that no registration request sent after the deadline will be taken into consideration;
    it is mandatory to communicate your institutional email address;
    provided that the university course allows it, credits must be requested by compiling the NOTES area of the registration form. Those who need to send a certification of attendance to their thesis supervisors or employers must do the same.

  • A laptop is required. If you do not have a pc, you may reserve one in the university library chosen for the laboratories.
  • At the end of the seminar, the names of those who will acquire the requested credits, and the intermediate Open Badge (automatically assigned) will be communicated to the appointed offices.
  • Should you miss one of the two laboratories, you will not acquire the credits nor the Open Badge. However, you will have the chance to attend another class during the subsequent workshop.

  • Bibliographic research tools
  • Identification of the different types of sources
  • Understanding the importance of the sources of information, evaluating their authority and managing copyright requirements
  • Bibliographic citation: editing notes and a final bibliography
  • Introduction to Reference Management Software.
